Himali Singh Soin

[ b. 1987 ]

is a writer and artist from New Delhi, based in London. She utilizes metaphors from the natural environment to construct speculative cosmologies that reveal deep historico-futuristic entanglements between human and non-human life. Her poetic methodology also explores the myriad ways of knowing, from scientific to intuitional, indigenous and alchemical processes. The work presented in this exhibition is a manifesto stems from the writer’s journey to the polar circles, where she was confronted with her alienness in a landscape otherwise used for outer space simulation experiments. Soin’s work has been shown at Whitechapel, ICA, Serpentine, Rich Mix, Lewisham Art House, Art Licks, Art Night London, London; Kadist, San Francisco, Abrons, New York, Meet Factory, Prague, Fabrika, Moscow, OCA, Norway, Dhaka Art Summit, Khoj, Delhi; Brick Bar, Riga among others.
